Youth Aerial Classes

Youth Classes

  • Intro Workshops are a one hour introduction to aerial silks. These classes are a way for kids to try out the aerial classes and see if they enjoy it enough to join a six week semester, and for parents to sit in on the class and see how a class is typically structured.

If kids enjoy the class and want to continue then we will have the amount of the class go towards the overall cost of the next series.

  • We offer 6 week semester for kids who are either new to aerial or are working up to join the level II classes.

Over the course of the six weeks we will cover a variety of different aerial skills that will be mostly in the fabrics. At the end of the six weeks we will invite parents to sit in at the end so that the kids can showcase their favorite tricks.

  • This series is for kids who have demonstrated an understanding of aerial silks. Requirements for this class are: able to evenly put on double footlocks and invert into a crossback straddle. Hip key from a little Russian. Invert without a knot. Show that they are good listeners and exhibiting safe behaviors (hand over hand descent, asking before dropping, etc.)

Each semester is 6 weeks with a friends/family invite the last day of the series (unless weather dictates otherwise).

  • We are piloting a new program! This session will cover the basics of aerial hoop for youth ages 12-15. If you are interested in signing up your child, please message us (there is a contact form at the bottom of the page).

FAQs

  • We teach age groups 7-12 and 12-15.

  • We no longer allow parents to sit in during class. We have two teachers who will be present to work with the kids to ensure that they have the help they need and are being safe in the air.

We will designate a time for parents/family to see what their children have learned. Usually the last day of the semester.

  • Physically, aerial arts can help kids build strength, flexibility, and coordination.

Non-physically, aerial boosts confidence as they build the strength/body awareness to achieve new heights :D They are in a small group environment with other kids bonding over a shared experience. 🎪

  • If you want to try just one class before deciding to join a semester, we recommend starting with the Youth Intro to Silks Workshop.

Intro Workshops are $30/one hour class.

    Six week semester is: $160.

Policies

  1. Attire: Leggings and a t-shirt that can be tucked in is required. If you really want to go above and beyond, leotards under a pair of leggings are the best since sometimes the fabrics tug at t shirts.

  2. Drop off/pickup: Drop off is open up to 15 minutes before the start of class. Pickup must happen within 15 minutes of the class ending or we will charge a $30 sitting fee per half hour.

  3. Late Arrivals: We will not allow children to participate if they are more than 10 minutes late and have missed the warmup.

  4. Severe weather: We will follow FPS for decisions on weather to cancel due to severe weather. If FPS cancels then we will cancel activities as well. You will receive a notification as well no later than 2pm.

  5. Refunds/Makeup Classes: Due to having limited spots and studio availability, we will not offer refunds or makeup classes for missed classes. We really look forward to each class and would appreciate a text or email heads up if your child is not going to be able to make the class.

  6. No Parents in the studio. In case you haven’t seen our space: we have a cozy little studio and having parents there changes the dynamic of the class. Please trust us to look after your kiddos! We will have two adults in the room present at all times to oversee safety and have designated specific parent times to come in and see what your child has been learning.

  7. Sick/Injured Children: Please stay home if your child is sick or injured! We will not allow children to participate if they are in a boot or sling. If your child is cleared to come to class but is coughing we will require them to wear a mask so as not to cough on other kids or into their arms because we use our arms for the fabrics and the germs can spread.

  8. Unenrollment: We reserve the right to unenroll your child due to safety concerns if he/she is not following directions, exhibits aggressive behavior towards others, or is continually trying tricks in the fabrics that are unsafe. The remaining sessions will be refunded. Sometimes we just have to wait another year and that is okay!
